Air Duct System
Your Air Duct System is attached to the heating and cooling system and is used to distribute heated and cooled air throughout your home or building. Room by Room Load Calculations are used to determine how much heating and cooling is needed to make each room comfortable, how much air is needed to get that amount of heating and cooling to the room, and how large the ducts need to be to get that air to the room. The only way to prove that a system is performing the way it was designed, is to test the work which was done. This testing is seldom performed on HVAC installations, or service calls, even today.
During service, maintenance, and repair calls, JP Gorman, Inc., technicians take the "Blood Pressure" of your Air Duct System. This test, actually called a Static Pressure Test, will give you a snapshot of how your system is performing, and will allow you to make a decision on further testing and possible renovations on your duct system. The national average of furnace and air conditioning performance is just 57%.
Fifty-seven percent!
That's it!
This means that just over half of the heating and cooling that your home comfort system produces is getting into your home. So you are paying almost double what you should be to heat and cool your home! This wouldn't be so bad except that the largest portion of your utility bill each month goes towards heating and cooling your home.
Renovating a duct system does not mean you need to purchase a new furnace and air conditioner. It simply means you are going to make the furnace and air conditioner which you already own perform like it is supposed to, make your house more comfortable, and save you money.
JP Gorman, Inc., has the passion, the training, the knowledge, the certifications, and the tools to test your duct system and see if it is performing properly. Just call us and ask to schedule a HeatMaxx™ , CoolMaxx™ , or ComfortMaxx™ Performance test on your comfort system, today. Visit the Home Comfort Center to learn more about Air and Comfort.
A Little Ranting, Raving, and Personal Experience on my own New Home
The Duct System is probably the most important, yet, most mis-understood system within your Home Comfort System. It truly amazes all of us here at JP Gorman, Inc., that duct systems are still being designed and installed like they were over 50 years ago. With all of the advancements in materials and technologies available today, there is no excuse for what we see in homes and businesses every day.
The reason that most of you pay through the nose to heat and cool your home has a lot to do with faulty duct system design, faulty installation practices, and plain lack of care by the builders and installing contractors. These faulty designs are also a big contributor to breakdowns and preliminary equipment failure. Why does this happen?
There is no accountability!
And what little is being done, if anything, by the California Energy Commission, your local Building Department, and your local Utility Company is Not enough.
JP Gorman, Inc is on A Mission to change that.
Ever wonder why some rooms are too hot and some rooms are too cold?
Ever wonder why your utility bill is too high?
Ever wonder why some supply vents are loud and others are not?
Ever Wonder why your air conditioner never turns off?
The number one answer is -----------The DUCT SYSTEM!
The National Comfort institute has tested and balanced over 50,000 homes nationwide. It has proven documentation that the average performance of heating and air conditioning systems nationwide is 57%. 57%. Thats it!
